The Nigerian government has revealed that Nigerians will be required to spend between N300,000 and N600,000 for the conversion of their petrol vehicles to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).

This was revealed by the Chief Executive Officer of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (P-CNGi) Steering Committee, Engr. Michael Oluwagbemi in an interview with Daily Trust.

The interview took place after the official commissioning of CNG conversion centres and a demonstration of converted CNG vehicles in partnership with the private sector at the head office of Femadec Group, one of the partners in Lagos.

The proposal to implement CNG usage by the Federal Government and other stakeholders is a crucial step in the ongoing efforts to enhance the affordability of transportation, particularly following the removal of the fuel subsidy, which resulted in increased fuel prices.
